‘Lost’ daffodil bulb variety dating back to 1623 on sale at Haskins Garden Centres
An unusual double daffodil bulb is on sale at Haskins Garden Centres to coincide with the centre’s Bulb Festival.
The sweet-smelling ‘Narcissus telamonius plenus Van Sion’ originally dates back to 1623 and is on sale for £4.99 at Haskins during its very own Bulb Festival.
The Van Sion lost daffodil variety is the same double bulb that Capability Brown once planted at Stowe. These bulbs were re-discovered several years ago during a National Trust restoration in Durham. Haskins Garden Centre in Ferndown donates daffodil bulbs to Marie Curie for Field of Hope
Staff working at Haskins Garden Centre in Ferndown presented £100 worth of trumpet daffodil bulbs to Marie Curie Poole Fundraising Group on Wednesday September 6.
Haskins donated the daffodil bulbs in support of the charity’s ‘Field of Hope’ remembrance area. The bulbs will be planted by the charity on Saturday October 14 in Baiter Park from 10am.
The ‘Field of Hope’ site was established by Marie Curie in 2016 and can be found in Poole’s Baiter Park.
