There’s no doubt that winter can be a tough season for landscape gardeners. During the colder months, clients are more interested in staying inside than getting out and making the most of their outside space, which can lead to a drop in new business leads. Grass Gains helps retailers tackle hosepipe bans head-on
As hosepipe bans begin to affect parts of the UK, Grass Gains is reassuring retailers that lawn care sales don't have to become another casualty of prolonged dry weather.
With water restrictions often leading consumers to delay or abandon lawn maintenance, the company has developed practical solutions designed to keep products moving through the tills while helping gardeners comply with the rules.
Recognising that hosepipe bans are likely to become an increasingly regular feature of British summers, Grass Gains has focused on making application as simple as possible.
Its One Shot Wonder liquid lawn feed which includes a wetting agent can be applied easily using a watering can or knapsack sprayer, meaning customers can continue feeding and maintaining their lawns without using a hosepipe.
To support retailers further, Grass Gains is also introducing dedicated point-of-sale material that clearly explains how the product can be used during hosepipe restrictions, helping remove uncertainty at the shelf edge and giving customers the confidence to continue purchasing.
Steve, Managing Director of Grass Gains, said: “Every challenge creates an opportunity. Hosepipe bans undoubtedly create uncertainty for consumers and can have a real impact on lawn care sales, but we believe retailers deserve practical solutions rather than simply accepting lower sales.
"We've worked hard to ensure our products remain easy to use during restrictions and have backed that up with clear in-store messaging to help retailers keep their lawn care category performing throughout the summer.”
He added: “Weather patterns are changing and periods of drought are becoming more frequent. As an industry, we need to adapt rather than stand still.
"Our aim is simple: support retailers, give consumers confidence and keep tills ringing by solving the problem instead of talking about it.”
The new POS material will be available to Grass Gains stockists shortly, reinforcing the message that effective lawn care can continue throughout hosepipe restrictions without compromising compliance with local water regulations.
Grass Gains believes that innovation is about more than developing products—it is about understanding the challenges facing retailers and responding with practical, commercially focused solutions that help businesses continue to thrive, whatever the weather.
