Johnsons Lawn Seed unveils Ace Lawn – the low-maintenance, biodiversity-boosting lawn mix

Johnsons Lawn Seed has today unveiled the latest addition to its portfolio at Glee 2025 (16th – 18th September, NEC Birmingham) – Ace Lawn, a unique lawn seed mixture boosted with Microclover® to deliver a greener, low-maintenance, and biodiversity-rich lawn all year round.

Designed for the modern gardener, Ace Lawn combines Tetraploid Perennial Ryegrass, Red Fescue and Microclover® to create a resilient, multipurpose lawn that is practical for everyday use while also working in harmony with nature. Unlike traditional clover, Microclover® has uniquely small leaves that integrate seamlessly with grass, producing a consistent green finish and a beautifully balanced lawn.

The inclusion of Microclover® means Ace Lawn is naturally self-sufficient and requires no fertiliser, makinLawng it both cost-effective and environmentally friendly. Its natural equilibrium ensures the lawn remains healthy throughout the seasons, with less input needed from gardeners. It is also drought-tolerant, shade-tolerant, and robust enough to withstand family use and high traffic areas – offering an easy-care solution for busy households.

Importantly, Ace Lawn also plays a role in supporting biodiversity. By reducing mowing frequency and allowing clover to flower, gardeners can provide valuable forage for pollinators such as bees and butterflies – turning lawns into havens for wildlife.

Guy Jenkins, Consumer Manager at Johnsons Lawn Seed, said: “With Ace Lawn we wanted to make it easier for gardeners to enjoy a beautiful, practical lawn while also doing something positive for the environment. The benefits of Microclover® speak for themselves – a greener lawn without the need for fertiliser, lower maintenance, and a natural boost for biodiversity. It’s the perfect example of how lawns can look great and work in harmony with nature.”
Ace Lawn is the latest in a series of Johnsons Lawn Seed innovations designed to support sustainable gardening, following the success of products such as Nature’s Lawn and Country Meadow.

Garden centre buyers and retailers can see Ace Lawn in action at Glee 2025, Hall 11, Stand A61–B60, or visit www.johnsonslawnseed.com for more information regarding the existing product portfolio.
