Chris Moncrieff & Kimberley Hornby George’s ‘Most Jumperful’ challenge raises over £7,900
The festive season was made even brighter this year as Kimberley Hornby George, owner of Hornby George PR and Co-Chair of the Garden Media Guild, and Chris Moncrieff, Head of Information and Advice at the Royal Horticultural Society, donned their Christmas jumpers for the annual ‘Most Jumperful Time of the Year’ fundraising event in support of the Greenfingers Charity.
Thanks to generous donations and sponsorship, Kimberley and Chris raised an incredible £7,900 to help the charity continue its vital work creating beautiful gardens in children’s hospices. This year's success would not have been possible without the kind contributions of all those that donated as well as the raft of incredible sponsors which included The Boyd Partnership, The AMES Companies, Corby & Fellas, Pleydell Smithyman, Tozer Seeds, JP Trett, Henry Bell, Sipcam, Vitavia, Modiform, Johnsons Lawn Seed, The Underground Podcast, Durston Garden Products, Frank P Matthews, and Glee, amongst others.
Linda Petrons, Director of Fundraising & Communications at the Greenfingers Charity, expressed her gratitude. She said: “Kimberley and Chris have been such good sports, bringing joy to everyone with their festive jumpers while raising awareness of the important work Greenfingers does. Their efforts, alongside the amazing support of our sponsors, have helped spread the word of the Greenfingers Charity to even more businesses, brands and individuals. We are so grateful for this and would like to thank everyone that got involved and supported them throughout December.”
Reflecting on the event, Kimberley and Chris thanked the garden community and sponsors for their support. Chris shared: “This challenge brought so much festive cheer and was a wonderful way to raise funds for such a meaningful cause. Whilst I’m happy to be back in my normal clothes, I am so pleased that those silly jumpers will help to make a difference where it is needed most.”
Kimberley added: “We are truly humbled by the generosity of those that donated or sponsored us along the way. It really made every itchy neckline, jingly bell and garish design a little bit easier to bear! Chris and I are so looking forward to seeing how our jumper-filled December will make a difference to those for children and families that spend time in a Greenfingers garden.”
Since its launch the Most Jumperful, an initiative set up by Natalie Boynton, has now raised £31,606.52.
