THE category with the biggest increase in sales during last year (2019) at garden centres across the country has been announced by the Garden Centre Association (GCA) as part of its Barometer of Trade (BoT) report.
Houseplant sales saw a year to date increase of 17.6% compared to 2018.

Johnsons Lawn Seed, the UK’s oldest grass seed supplier, is celebrating a 40% rise in grass seed sales over the past two years, as demand strengthens for its market-leading portfolio of quality lawncare products.

Christmas tree provider Pines and Needles is going green this festive season by ditching plastic artificial trees from its stores.
Founded by Sam and Josh Lyle more than 20 years ago, the company is joining the global drive to be more sustainable in 2019 by only supplying natural firs grown on its picturesque Scottish plantations to customers.

Herefordshire firewood company Certainly Wood has launched a new £400K firewood processing line - one of the largest of its kind in the world. The project was part funded by the Rural Development Programme for England under the Countryside Productivity Forestry Grant scheme.
